I've been thinking about this for half a day. What is the difference between a locust & a grasshopper?

I wanted to know that same question. I looked up on the internet and found that locust are a type of short-horned grasshopper. The main difference between a regular grasshopper and a locust is that locust have the ability to change behaviour from a mostly solitary animal to a collective swarm of insects. It's also interesting about how there can be physical changes in appearance as they change behaviour.
