I'm a still-in-my-twenties male, straight, not in the brink of disaster by any means, and I think Morrissey is a genius! What's this crap about "too much whining"? Who's with me, who's against me, and why?

PS: I mention that I'm straight only to confound the stereotype of Morrissey fans; gay people are welcome

Morrissey is very truthful in his lyrics, he's not straight or guy but asexual l was a big fan of The Smiths for 20 years. He seems to have developed a very loyal gay following. He didn't start out this way early Smiths fan were very shy and misfits in society. His additude and lyrics have changed over the years mainly to please his loyal fan. He's still asexual as far as l know still the greatest song writer in the world. But he was a lot better 20 years ago when he was in The Smiths.

I'm not a Morrissey fan, but the Smiths were friggin awesome... (and I feel that comparitively, Morrissey (when without the Smiths) does seem a bit whiney and annoying... just one man's opinion, though...)

He spends all his time whining that's what that is about, I think Morrissey fans have some sort of hearing abnormality that allows them to block it out.

I think he's a genius too. I love his lyrical ability and his melancholy voice. He manages to put a touch of realistic sarcasm into everything. Takes genius to sustain that over 20 years. I'm seeing him play this weekend at V. Can't wait.

I just pulled out 'Louder than Bombs' recently, and noticed more whining on it than when I was in my 20s. It's still good stuff, but it surprised me how much I've changed.
