West Coast of Ireland is gorgeous, some fantastic beaches there and also in the South....Take a look at the film Ryan's Daughter and you'll get my drift!! Not really UK but close.
In Britain...the North East, the beach at Bamburgh is breathtaking.

East Lothian in Scotland. I live near Tyninghame beach in the John Muir country park. It can get busy in summer: I've seen as many as six or seven families on only 2 miles of sand, but otherwise it's very nice.
We've got trees to climb, castles to visit and the festival city of Edinburgh is only half an hour's drive away. The weather is much dryer than the west of the country and it's very relaxing and a great place to visit. There's the museum of flight, where Concorde is parked, a family farm park at Dunbar if you have kids, oh, i could go on and on. Come on up! It's great!

Many of the beaches around the Seascale nuclear reactor are not much used by the tourist trade.
If you are not bothered about needing to meet Welsh people there are many deserted beaches along Cardigan Bay also.
Pembroke is a little busier, but also worth consideration.

Polzeath in cornwall rules - tiny little town with a great surfing community and a cool beach. Failing that constantine bay is just down the road which i reckon is one of the nicest beaches ever (and i used to live in the carribean)

The Isle of Mull.
Go to Tobermory (the kids Balamory), you will have a great time.
Visit Torosay Castle by going on the wee railway. Pure bliss.
Have a good time wherever and whenever.

Went round the whole of the UK for about 9 days this year. If you like your outdoors then I recommend places like fort williams in Scotland, which is next to Ben Nevis. You've got beautiful scenery and loads of outdoor trekking to do and the B&B's their our great. Also Wale's mount Snowdon is great and the sorrounding area. Anywhere north is both beautiful and great!!!
