apart from malaysia china also forbid dual citizenship. there're various reasons with this regulation. as a country with so many immigration workers we need to emphasise on restricting the citizenship because if we do give citizenship easily to foreingners, many indonesians, bangladeshi and other foreign workers will take advantages upon this matter and think about the consequences yourself. i'm not going to write this.

people from other countries are dying to get a malaysian pasport. however i'm holding a dual citizenship myself. i was born and raised here in malaysia and just last month i've been granted Philippines citizenship because my mum is a Filipino and it entitle me Philippines pasport. as long as this matter hasnt be reported to the jabatan pendaftaran negara, i am free to go out and in the country using malaysian pasport.

as for the philippines citizenship. it's nothing actually. the pasport is cheap and we have to queue in line to get it stamped everytime we need to go out from the country. i'm proud to have philippines blood in my veins but i'm always and forever be proud for being malaysian!

Don't know why. Don't think religion has anything to do with it.But my son has dual citizenship until he's 18, I think..because his father is a Canadian but my son was born in Malaysia. Mother's status (whether she's a Malaysian or not) doesn't matter one bit if the baby was born out of Malaysia. Go figure!
