Ive been focusing on organic whole foods, not only will YOU feel great avoiding pesticides and hormones and such added to most commercial foods...you give your baby a head start on good health. Because the hormones excreted during pregnancy tend to make the intestines slower (thus increased gas and constipation) high fiber foods are a HUGE plus. They reduce many of the gastrointesinal issues pregnant woman suffer from..however you must drink TONS of water with the fiber. Congratulations!

The top three micronutrient you can't go without is:
vitamin C
Folic acid
Iron
Therefore, Bread and cereal contact lots of Folic acid reduces the risk of disorder in the development of the baby's spine.

Drink lots of 100% fruit juice especially orange. It supply you and the baby with energy .

Sea food contain more Iron, even if you dont like fish atleast take supplements.. Your body wont do well without Iron especially in pregnancy..

Hope this help!!!

Food to eat while pregnant

You may not need to make major changes to the food you eat while pregnant. Eat according to your appetite, and try to eat from a range of good quality foods to make sure you get the nutrients you and your growing baby need. Every day, you should aim to eat something from each of these food groups:

fruit and vegetables — try to aim for five or more portions of fruit and vegetables per day. Use any kind, including fresh, frozen, dried, tinned in natural juices, and pure fruit juices. (Remember though that only one glass of fruit juice can be counted towards your five or more portions, no matter how many you drink.)

bread, cereals, rice, pasta, potatoes — these should make up the main part of your meal. Wholegrain cereal foods such as brown rice or wholemeal bread have more fibre and vitamins and are more filling.

meat, fish and alternatives (these provide protein and iron) — include some food from this group twice a day. This includes meat, chicken, fish (including tinned fish), eggs, nuts, beans, pulses.

milk and dairy foods (these provide an important source of calcium) — try to include one pint of semi-skimmed or skimmed milk per day or swap 1/3 of a pint of milk for 1oz (30g) of cheese (matchbox size), a yoghurt or a bowl of milk pudding. Low fat dairy products have the same amount of calcium as full fat varieties.

lots of milk, water and no added sugar fruit juices.
bananas and other fruits, veggies (wash both fruits and veggies well)
Eat nuts or trail mix instead of chips. Crackers and cheese are always good.
Smoothies mixed with milk, frozen yogurt and fruit give you calcium and vitamin C.
beans, lentils, lean meats that are cooked well and peanut butter are all good sources of protein.
tuna is good in moderation.
Eat whole wheat bread and whole grain rice instead of white bread or white rice since they are bleached.
Oh and eat lots of fiber to keep yourself from being constipated (very common during pregnancy)
I eat a bowl of raisin bran with cut up bananas and skim milk for breakfast.

well lots of veggies and fruits. peanut butter is good, it has lots of folic acid. take your prenatals of course. listen to your body, it will tell you what you need. If you are craving steak or burgers, you may just need protein. if you are craving ice cream, then you may be craving calcium. potatoes, you are craving calcium, but sweet potatoes are healthier if you can eat them. let me know if you have any more questions. I am a mother of 2 and one on the way. good luck.
