a very major cause of bootups are excessive heating of the underlying hardware ! there might be some problems when the computer is tryin to come out of hibernation !!
i knw it sounds lame but i had this problem way back wid my desktop only thing it happened at more places other than the standby ! LOL
also u can adjust ur power settings for ur comp by
right click on desktop
properties -> screen saver -> power
check settings there too

start, control panel, energy options, turn off power off at standby.

you probably have a sofware application which triggers out-of-standby status. Probably : messenger,download applications
