Imagine you've committed armed robbery, and stole £20,000. You've been caught, but for some reason the judge has let you out on bail. They've confiscated your passport.

You're young, you're scared of prison, you're looking at at least 5 years and you've got 20 grand. What would you do? Where would you go?

This is hypothetical, I'm not on the run.
(and if you're a born-again, please don't start bleating on about how I'm going to hell etc.)

I would change my name by deed poll, get a new passport, give the money to charity and run off to Cuba and live the life of a beach bum for eternity, OK none of this is possible but fun thinking about it though.

If you can do the crime, why can't you do the time? Hypocritical, isn't it?

"ohhh i can rob a bank, and thousands, or millions of dollars. I can live like a king! But if something goes wrong, and the cops bust me, and they're ready to throw the book at me, then that's not fair!!! I gotta run! I can't go to prison! I don't wanna meet bubba. I don't wanna be a prison b!tch!!"

BSBSBSBSBS!!!! You know the risks, and if you are that pigheaded where you can't do the RIGHT thing in life and pay society by doing the time after doing the crime, then maybe you need to try another planet.

Well, some would say don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

You wouldn't have £20,000 anymore the police would have taken it as evidence so I think you would have to sit tight and hope for probation.

Is armed robbery possible in the UK where there are no guns?

I guess the best thing is dont put yourself in that situation. I know that isn't the type of answer your looking for. I just had to say this to you. If they claim to be born again and judge you and condem you to hell. Then I say they have not been born again for they know not love. Is this not the teaching of the one they claim to follow Jesus Christ. He would forgive out of love and extend compassion. Sounds to me like youve been plauged by dead zombies who are following dead teachings, no spirit, no life & no love in it. They may have passed their own judgement on themselves. I'll put 5 quid on it even though I live in yankeeland.
Have a beautiful life and don't let the ravings of the dead bother you.

Face the music. A guilty conscience would follow me everywhere. I'm not the sort who can forget. I would give the money to charity though rather then giving it back. There are people who need it far more then banks and building societies!

I'd figure out which country the US couldn't extradite from and I would go there ASAP! hmmm never mind, they have your passport? Of course with 20,000 you could buy a new passport

Get a fake passport and do one to some far off country with no extradition treaty and a favourable exchange rate.
