I'm looking for a a holiday camp in France or The Netherlands along the same lines as Pontins and Butlins with chalets for accomodation (not caravans or tents) and with good facilities and able to accomodate 1800-2000 persons.
Any advise would be appreciated.

I would say you are fairly unlikely to find the type of holiday camp you are looking for in France as most in France are full of caravans and tents run by companies like Keycamp and Eurocamp. In the Netherlands, however, there are loads of holiday camps with 'chalets' for accommodation - I stayed on 2 sites a few years ago, and it was booked through P&O at Thomson travel agency. I can't remember where the 2 sites I stayed on were, but one was near Arnhem, which was a nice site, and the other one was on an island south of Rotterdam called Noord Beveland (I think).

In the Netherlands, the 2 biggest are Center Parks and Landal Green Parks I think. They usually have on-site activities such as indoor pools, minature golf and some times stuff like archery or climbing. Hope this helps!
