This remindsof the superman movie!

There'ss no way to make your own land without effecting the rest of the planet!!! Certainly you're going to effect the world map if nothign else, with two huge massive island projects.

"The Palm Islands are the three largest man-made islands being built on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They are date palm tree shaped islands are being developed by dubai-based real estate develoers Al Nakheel Properties."

"The World Islands are a collection of man-made islands shaped into the continents of the world, located off the coast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It will consist of 300 small private artificial islands divided into four categories - private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands. Each island will range from 250 to 900 thousand square feet (23.2 to 83.6 thousand square meters) in size, with 50 to 100 metres (164 to 328 feet) of water between each island. It will cover a total area of 9 kilometers (5.4 miles) in length and 6 kilometers (3.6 miles) in width, surrounded by an oval shaped breakwater. The only means of transportation between the islands will be by marine or air transport."

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas on this...

That's kinda scary, with all that going on in the world why spend billions of dollars on making land instead of helping people. They're just making the rich richer. Funny I saw Trump's name connected to it too!

It'd be different if it meant the Rich moved out so there's more affordable homes/ apartments for the rest of us. But it will just be another home for them, taking up more space than they need.

I agree with what “Rigo” said. Technically, that island/s is still inside Dubai’s waters. International law states, a 3 mile distance from the coast is owned by the presenting country. Past the 3 mile distance is the International waters. They can't go beyond that. Sad though, the marine life around the man-made island would be devastating--I imagine. I hope they are richly concerned with the ecology as with their economy. You have to give them credit, their engineering prowess is amazing; turning arid landscapes into an oasis.

one million. The marine existence might want to impression in oceans might want to impression your lifestyle. i.e. sharks 2. how can you construct your own island on an ocean? (except an underwater volcano erupts and varieties one) 3. it will be chillier on water than on land. 4. Many sources not at the prompt are not accessible. (nutrition, interest, lights, warmth, etc.) If there became an unoccupied land in the international, there's a probability of you possessing it, yet I doubt it because the authorities might want to attain it earlier you signal any of those professional papers pointing out that you personal that piece of land. you could dream in spite of the reality that, and make that dream a reality faster or later.

Man has often created land in the sea - look at the history. I am from Holland, land of dykes. We have created land in the past in the same manner Dubai is doing now. Dubai is small so the effect on our planet is nihil. Actually Dutch experts are called to Dubai to make the project work.

I don't see any harm in the project - please see the link I put, then you can see that it is quite common to reclaim land from the sea because the sea takes land every year, bit by bit

The Netherlands have claimed huge areas of land back from the sea in the past, called the Polders, and it has has no effect on the planet. Like Dubai, it may look big, but globally the scale is tiny and insignificant. Don't worry!

Dubai is doing what people have always done... Just on a much grander scale. We also change our environment to suit our needs. So I see nothing wrong with this. But it is our hope that we do this in an environmental way. If we can manage this balance between environment and advancement it should all work out.

I think Dubai is trying to advance itself on the world stage, and for that they should be commended.

Many countries have taken land back from the sea - this is certainly not the first time. Think of Amsterdam!

Oceans are divided - there are parts owned by certain countries, and then there are the waters that are 'International Waters' which are beyond the reach of any one country.

Oceans are international. However shorelines may have a distance which is owned, which Dubai is working in.

Take a beach for example, with warning objects out i nthe water.

Call me nuts, but I may have to do with the depth of the water. More shallow waters have the ability to be owned, where deeper waters are considered international.

Dubai government is developing its own territories including waters, thats good for them and for the whole world, its an example of how man should get the best of of his properties,
creating tourist attraction out of nothing is definately is an excellent work. I love Dubai and admire how it is growing

Why not? I think its a good idea. I dont understand where you are goin to with this. I mean seriously speaking, have you ever heard the term 'The ocean is wide?'

There cant be much harm if any. Im sorry, theres too much suffering elsewhere in the world for you to be wasting your energy on this topic. If you want to fight for a worthwhile cause then go for child porn or child prostitution in Thailand.
