In India their are numerous organizations that criticize and demoralize the use of English language. They press on the usage of their own mother tongue. Although I have realized that even they are helpless to communicate without English.

The world needs an "International auxiliary language" like esperanto.

Why not english as the International Language? This seems a reasonable question, but

* English is by no means easy to master it is, generation after generation, the international language of a certain elite
* any nationally dominant language puts non-native speakers (in this case 90% of the world population) in an unfavourable position
* English - no matter how widespread still only reflects one specific type of culture, which may be upsetting to some
* in stress situations, one tends to lose ones ability to speak an irregular foreign language
* the above also applies to all other big languages as French, Spanish or Chinese.

For the same fact that you misspelled several words in your question. First of all, it can be difficult to pronounce and spell. When you read certain words, you can't always pronounce them as they look or you will say a wierd thing. "Read" can be I read that yesterday or I will read that in a minute. Other languages have other word spellings for different uses of the "same word." Also, the huge amount of rules that affect endings, beginnings, and center of words can be confusing. For example, take i before e except after c or adding s versus es or y and ies. There are many more but those give you an idea why English is disliked among other nations. One last thing is that many of our consonants and vowels are hard for a foreigner's mouth to create certain sounds. It's just as hard for some English speakers to pronounce foreign language sounds so I guess it evens itself out. Snobby tourists to some of these countries don't help, either. Not all English speakers are snobbish, but enough have given us a bad name. Maybe you can help change that. More power to you.

English itself has several dialects, American, British, Australian, to name a few.

Most peoplle do not mind using English as a second language, they object to loud mouthed Americans who think the louder they shout, the better people will understand them or expect everyone to speak english because they were too lazy or stupid to learn a few necessary words..
