It doesn't pay much, but it adds up when you put in a 16 hour shift every day. Rumour suggests she's being kept prisoner in a chimney by Dick Van Dyke, who dangles a microphone down the chimney and fed her on a strict diet of 10 bags of pork scratchings per day to maintain that gravelly edge. I hear Silent Running volunteered to take over when Dick dies.

Advert voice overs pay an absolute fortune! She also does loads of radio stuff. The newspaper collumn alone is worth around 160k per year.
...and we go to work for a pittance. Bah.
