The two soldiers were captured in Israel. Hezbollah started it and Israel doesn't F around. They gave up a lot of land about a year ago near the border to prevent stuff like this but it didnt work. What would America do if Mexico kidnapped two soldiers defending the border? We would destroy the whole country...
Yes innocent people died but when you dont stop evil in your own country and choose to harbor it, messed up things happen.

the responsibility for the war lies with both Israel and Lebanon for their intolerance of each other and for their eagerness to kill themelves and each other. what fewer people want to admit is that the responsibility lies more with Europe and the Americas than with anybody else. The Europeans were the intolerant ones who drove out the Jews during the 1930's and 40's with their racism and their holocaust. And in the Americas, where there was room to accept those people, where they would have done some good and contributed to society in a positive way, they were not accepted, again because of racism and prejudice. same goes for Australia.
So instead of accepting those people, Britain and the USA decided to arm them and send them into Palestine where there was already precious little space. Millions of people were displaced and the consquences of that act of violence are the direct cause of the violence today.
Until Europe, the Americas, and Australia accept their responsibility in this conflict it will not end, unless there is a total genocide of one side or another. When we do accept and try to understand the problem in a serious way instead of seeing it as cheap tv entertainment then we will need to think seriously about how we can solve these problems.
I think that everybody needs to be given a place to live, and it needs to be done in a way that does not break apart families and histories and languages. That is what the real problem is, and anything else is just a distraction. For that to happen a lot of people will need to let go of their hatreds and prejudices first, and learn how to accept each other with respect and tolerance.
Sadly it does not really seem to me like anybody is heading in this direction. The whole peace process is just a sham that doesn't even offer a band-aid solution. It's just a chance for big-headed pompous fools to stand up and talk so they can hear the sound of their own voices.

Wait Lebanon is not really guilty of anything except failing to police it's own state. Right now we are all going to assume that Lebanon is not an aggressor nation to Israel. It is the Hizballah terrorist group that is 100% to blame for all the death and destruction. Period. Hizballah is a recognized terrorist organization, they do this sort of thing all the time... it has become the terrorists M.O.
1. Hurt innocent people, terrorize, maim, kill, etc. incite war.
2. Squat down in some country not your own and laugh as they get their face washed by the people you pissed off.
3. Laugh harder, Glory in all your power!
4. Eat an onion and go on International T.V. and "cry" about all the "dead babies"
5. Enjoy all the new terror-tory freed up for you and your gang, by all the bombed out buildings that are left uninhabitable because of the bombs of the people you initially pissed off to begin with.
When Terrorist Muslims lay down their weapons there will be peace. When Israelis do they will be annihilated.
No Land for Peace, No More! The UN can bite itself.

Lebanon took 2 Israel soldiers who were on Lebanese lands,then Israel started bombing the hell out of Lebanon in order to let these 2 soldiers out,i would say Israel started it,why did those 2 soldiers go to Lebanese lands in the first place...and till now they didn't get those 2 soldiers back,so all those people who got killed were killed for no reason,not to mention that a lot more than 2 of the Israelis soldiers got killed too...God i hate violence.

US govt. It was supplying Israel with the military arsenal before and during the war. It did its best to delay the ceasefire.

Hizbollah started it, right? I don't know that you can assign absolute blame for a whole war. It takes more than one to go to war.
