You better see a doctor. It happened to one of my female friends and she is not cured yet.

I think your "problem" has a name: amenorrhea.

You don't tell us whether your periods were regular or not a year ago.

Did something happen then to make it stop? I mean: did you have a serious emotional shock or something like that? An accident? A case of depression? A sort of trauma?

If that is not the case, then you must look for the causes elsewhere.

First possibility: nutritional deficiency. Even if you are not anoxeric, you can be following a very poor diet, eating junk food, etc. You must review your present regimen and then establish healthy eating habits: animal protein is necessary, too much fruit can be problematic, eating snacks instead of proper meals doesn't work in the long run. Try to get three balanced meals a day. Not more, not less. Protein, healthy carbs, salads. Avoid junk foods and beverages. Drink enough water.

Second possibilty: hormonal imbalance. This is more difficult to treat and might require that you consult with a doctor. Anyway you should try to minimize stress in your life, sleep better, have some light physical activities, relax yourself, etc.

Good luck.

Iron levels could be low, plus its easy to be irregular. Ask your doctor, or maybe try more green beans. A yr is a long time to be irregular. It could be any number of things, and some worse then others, their first sign is that you dont have your "month thing." If your younger then 18 it could be the first signs of a defect from birth or something as small as low iron. Just ask your doctor.

Perhaps your system is out of whack. This type of thing happens to young athletes and gymnasts who do not eat right and work out or exercise to much. Also, if your taking prescription drugs that might cause it as well.

How old are you? Are you on any types of medications? Depo shots sometimes can cease the month thing. It usually does not stop for a year normally. I would definitely go to my doctor if I were you. Good Luck

There's really not enough information here to give an intelligent answer. However, my daughter is a serious long distance runner and during the six months of heavy training for marathons she stops having her period.

Okay ... First of all it is called your period and second of all i would think that common sense would tell you to get to a doctor.. There is some sort of problem and you need to find out what ... it could be as simple as you need the pill to regulate you or it could be something much more serious ....

Endometriosis!!! well, thats what happened to me. I seldom had my periods AND it was extremely irrregular. I also had an ovarian cyst (approx 10cm in diameter!). I had to have a laparoscopy to remove the cyst and to clear my abdomen and womb of the cumulative blood from endometriosis.
