i prefer the "balut sa puti". the chick fetus is still very young so the bones are really soft and there isn't much hair(feathers still look like hair)
but most of all i like the soup and the yellow part(yolk).
yummy..
as for penoy, the best would be the "masabaw or uhugin" the eggyolk and white are just a mush inside perfect with a pinch of salt.

If other people find balot weird/disgusting, well it's their loss! Balot is very delicious especially with salt! Yey! I have been eating balot ever since I was about five or six years old and still loving that fermented duck egg!...
But penoy...hmm... I have eaten those but I don't really like it. It's just lie a bigger boiled chicken egg... nothing special... well I guess a little differetn flavor but not that different. I would still go with the balot!!! Yey!!

I love eating balot added with salt. I just don't eat the little chick inside. I also love eating penoy.

i know it was featured in some tv shows that its so yucky...

i don't like penoy. i only eat balot. i don't eat the baby duck though. it's good with vinegar and salt. yummy!

balot is with the unborn chick and the penoy is strictly just the egg white and yolk....

it's not my favorite thing to eat but it does bring back a lot of childhood memories when this delicacy is being sold by peddlers around night time.also remembered "penoy"prepared in another way - dipped in orange colored batter and deep fried. this one is yummy with garlic vinegar coz u dont see any embryo - only the white and the yolk.

Balot (Ball-UTE) is a phillipino delicacy of a fertilized egg, lmost ready to hatch which is eaten, feathers and all. Yum Yum.
I don;t know penoy, I do like to eat tingle. ;-)

I did not only try! I love them both but I like balot the most. Yummy! Succulent and with just salt, it can already make my day. :)
