In our society, a man being raped is a taboo subject, out of the mainstream. There are very few states that care to tackle the subject. But headway is being made, simply because of the damage the Catholic priests have done to hundreds of boys, who are now troubled adults.

It doesn't happen that often. Mostly it's men who do this kind of stuff, like molest, invade homes,RAPE,etc. When females do it, it's such a shocking thing, because that hardly ever occurs. Their are at least 3 maybe four women rapist every 6 or 7 months. Their are at least 3 or four male rapist every 6 in a half minutes. I do watch the news baby cakes.

Because, a man comming forward with such an experience would only make him appear weak by societies standards. Men are raped (and to the one who said men can only dream of being raped by a beautiful woman... rape isn't about sex... and in many, many cases... men are raped by other men) more than the public admits, but fear of ostrasization (eek... spelling) keeps many male victims silent.

I am honestly confused too as to why men are not treated the same as women when it comes to things like that. I do know that alot more men than women are too ashamed, many don't speak out for it, and the statistics suck because of that. Others who do speak out are not listened to, and that is sad, really. Why can't the human race learn to treat everyone equal and not judge people for their race or anything like that? It is a never ending battle that has been since the beginning of time and will continue, because many people are selfish and only think of themselves rather than how to treat others.

Interesting fact: In south africa the laws have just been changed to view male rape as rape instead of indecent assault.

No matter how hard women try, we are viewed as the weaker sex therefore, stereotypically more vulnerable.
And I guess it's also a stereotype that most men would not back down to an advance from a woman.
So maybe that's why..... stupid stereotypes.

Because much fewer men come forward. In our messed up society they are afraid of being made fun of and they let the assholes who hurt them get away with it.
