1 mile = 1.60934 km
and 1 km =1000 m
SO
68miles * 1.60934= 109..435 km
109.435 km * 1000= 109438 meters
1 hour = 60 * 60 sec
109438 / 3600 =30.399444

1 meter per second = 0.44704 miles per hour. Using this information we can use the factor label method with only one factor conversion:
68 mph * (0.44704 meters per second / mile per hour) = 30.39 m/s
Remember when you use the factor label method first write what you are given on the left of the = sign, and what you are trying to convert to on the right of the = sign. Then insert the appropriate factor conversions.
The long way to do this problem (using multiple factor conversions) would be...
(68 mi / 1 hr) * (1 mi / 60 min.) * (1 mi / 60 sec) * (1,609.344 m / 1 mile) = 30.39 m/s

am i doing your math homework? ;)
use this link...
http://www.onlineconversion.com/speed_common.htm
68 mile/hour (mph) = 30.398 72 meter/second
or the long way,
1 mile = 1609.344 meters
68miles= 109435.392
so the train is going 109435.392 meters per hour
so divide down the distance to get meters per second...
109435.392 /3600
= 30.3987 m/s
