Self respect in my opinion is more related to pride, ego is *********. You should be prideful but not cocky.

Self- respect is when you do not disrespect yourself.

Self Respect is knowing what you are about and loving yourself as you are.Ego is just feeling superior than others and putting people down by showing off that you are better than them.
