You would have to Google wood to find the density...
But, in my opinion, any wood that is "veneered", or, 1/8" thick, and bonded into layers, would be your best bet for strenght and durability.
Bass wood is light, as well as balsa.
Bass wood is straight grained, and balsa isnt as straight, but extremely light. (Both are used in models).

Density??? Is this a Science project or a DIY Q?
For all said here, Bamboo, often processed for flooring, walls, etc, will be the strongest, most light weight Plant type substance you can get.

Im not sure of its density, but I live in South Africa & the most common descent wood you can get is South African Pine. Its strong & cheap aswell.
