WELL it all has to do with the fact that money has no value except as a medium of exchange .BASED on nothing except the common cost to produce goods which is energy which is oil .
When several years back some of the oil producers started to consider other methods rather then U.S.A. dollars people here in america got worried .
THIS has now got all of the oil nations who considered a new exchange currency for oil in deep crap with america .
YOU guys are the victums of being first so the others will get the messege . IRAN better back off or it will be next and the press here in america is doing nothing to slow the motion to include Iran in the battle .
You have to understand that money and american money allows america to live better then any other nation on earth .WE print all we want as long as everyone accepts it .
ALL the world needs is to base money on something other then oil and america is sunk .
IF it becomes the ability to produce goods then in a few short years china will be the nation that prints the money .
THERE use to be a standard and that was Gold and precious metals but with the price inflated and Gold in america easy to refine at a price of 800 an ounce .It becomes worth it to mine it again .THE american government is going to redifine money by basing it on Gold and energy production and supply but it needs to control most of the oil to do this and with Iraq as a alley and friend to america we can accomplish price stablization for americas short term needs .
THIS is all about money and power and has nothing to do with terroism or saddam who was our friend at one time .
ALOT of americans know this and are trying to get the troops back home now and out of your country .
After this november you will see a shift in american policy and in a couple more years bush will be replaced if not sooner by the new congress.
MANY here are pushing for his impeachment which can lead to his being removed from office but this leaves who in-charge ? This is the problem we have never had to face an entire administration that has gone nuts .SO we most consider carefully how best to deal with this and it wil take a few more years i am affraid .
I hope somehow you people over there can pull yourselfs together and end the violence between yourselfs and the american soldiers who are just silly young kids with big guns who do as they are told .They are as scared as you all are and are at this point just trying to stay alive . THE quicker there is peace there the easier it will be for us to leave .
Americans want peace IT is only bush and his people that want war .
So i gotta tell you that 35% of americans want your country however Bush says and the rest of us want to be out of there .
YOU can help by spreading the word to stop the killing for a week and find a press agent from Italy , France ,Germany , or SPAIN and get the mesege to americans that you are willing to end the violence and we need to leave now and see if in a month if the world knows about this if the troops do not come home to america where they belong .
Toi bad for everyone this has happened and better days are ahead for all of us as soon as we can get rid of Bush .

Thank you very much for posting on this board and telling us how it is with you in Iraq.

Here in the US we were told by our government that the world had changed since the 9/11 attacks and that the old rules of international law and American policy no longer applied. It would be foolish to wait until another country was an immediate or imminent threat, we had to strike first, pre-emptively. This was called the Bush Doctrine and was announced at the same time the push for war on Iraq began.

Sadaam Husein was building nuclear weapons and would soon be a threat. How soon? We were given different estimates, but it did not matter, we had to strike first under the Bush Doctrine. Sadaam had "recently" attempted to buy yellow cake uranium from Africa. Sadaam already had chemical and biological weapons. Sadaam had not complied with UN resolutions for getting rid of WMD. He was in an alliance with Al Qaeda and supported their terrorism. He encouraged Palestinian suicide bombers by paying their families a rewards of thousands of dollars. Other justifications came later, especially as time went on and WMD were not found.
________

Because I am Arab and this never made sense to me either, I have followed the news in the US media closely. I have read several books written by reputable journalists that explain a lot of the reasons. I can give a good summary, and my email address is available through this website.

Mark who answered above is correct, behind everything else, this is the main reason. The President is not very smart and has been manipulated. He did not put the interests of America first and he did not understand the big picture. Our previous Presidents may have favored Israel somewhat, but in the end they chose the path that was in the best interests of the US.

The official story on Iraq has never made sense. The connection that the Bush administration has tried to draw between Iraq and al-Qaida has always seemed contrived and artificial. In fact, it was hard to believe that smart people in the Bush administration would start a major war based on such flimsy evidence.
The pieces just didn't fit. Something else had to be going on; something was missing.

Those missing pieces have finally begun to fall into place. As it turns out, this is not really about Iraq. It is not about weapons of mass destruction, or terrorism, or Saddam, or U.N. resolutions.

This war, is intended to mark the official emergence of the United States as a full-fledged global empire, seizing sole responsibility and authority as planetary policeman. It would be the culmination of a plan 10 years or more in the making, carried out by those who believe the United States must seize the opportunity for global domination,

even if it means becoming the "American imperialists" that our enemies always claimed we were.

Once that is understood, other mysteries solve themselves. For example, why does the administration seem unconcerned about an exit strategy from Iraq once Saddam is toppled?

Because we won't be leaving. Having conquered Iraq, the United States will create permanent military bases in that country from which to dominate the Middle East, including neighboring Iran.

Because the USA is manged by lobbyist and the Israeli lobby and the war lobbyist have a plane for your country. The Israeli government prayed for the attack on Iraq, which has eliminated the strategic threat posed by Iraq. America was pushed into the war by a group of Neo-Conservatives, almost all of them Jews, who had a huge influence on the White House. In the past, some of them had acted as advisers to Binyamin Netanyahuwww.nowarforisrael.com/

You guys have oil and are strategic positioned to another country that has oil. The Bush junta couldn't pass up the chance to get their fingers on you oil.

No matter what the puppet government says that is installed in Baghdad, no matter what the Bush junta says. We are not interested in human rights, we are not interested in freedom for you guys.
WE ARE THERE BECAUSE OF THE OIL.

We wouldn't have to if people from your country would stand up to leaders like Saddam.

Why did you allow Saddam to do the terrible things to others?
