I speak Danish but I was lucky my parents were Danish and we spoke it at home and visited family often. The best advice I can give you is say what you see not like English and there are 29 letters in the alphabet,
I have been trying to learn Spanish now for 3 years and that is difficult if not impossible. About the German yes it has a few similar words but its a language on its own. Can I ask you why do you want to learn Danish I now only get the chance to speak it when I go to Tenerife as it stops timeshare and scratchcard touts as I act as if I don't speak English.
