"Meth works by flooding the brain with massive amounts of dopamine, a neurochemical normally released in small amounts in response to something pleasurable. It also raises blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, and body temperature.

The Crash

Of course, the high comes at a cost. When the drug wears off, dopamine in the brain is depleted, and users are left feeling depressed, fatigued, and irritable. After heavy use, some people become psychotic and paranoid, and they may experience a state of "anhedonia," or an inability to feel any pleasure, which makes them crave the drug.

"It takes the brain months and months to recover," Richard Rawson, PhD, a professor of psychiatry and assistant director of the Integrated Substance Abuse Programs at UCLA, tells WebMD.

What's more, research on rats and monkeys has shown that methamphetamine use may permanently damage the brain cells that make dopamine, as well as those that make serotonin, another brain chemical involved in pleasure."

Ibuprofen might have been taken to offset the after effects of meth. It's pretty hard to over abuse immediately, but long term abuse could results in severe internal organ damage.

My advice: Lose this guy. There's such a huge world of people, and there's no way in hell this guy needs to be meddling with other people's lives when his obviously isn't very straightened out yet.

Usually, the worst thing about meth is the other stuff found in meth- not the active principle which I am forgetting the name of right now. I don't think Ibuprofren and meth have any kind of synergy. I have seen videos of a guy freaking out on meth. Safe to say it is probably the most dangerous drug to society since it is cheap, can be made easily and highly addictive.

Ibuprophen is safe when taken as directed. Any higher doses and liver damage occurs.

Now we come to the terrible part. Meth destroys brain cells and relationships, and memory, and the blood vessels. Small amounts of meth over time can end in death sometimes because it is not a regulated drug and the sources are always different, so no one knows what all is in it... maybe a lot of impurities.

if meth is taken in large doses, it will kill a person at any time. That is why meth users die, because they never know that this time was the time their body couldn't handle any more meth.

If you love your boyfriend, you will get help for him. Talk with your parents and ask them to speak with your boyfriend's parents. I would tell you to speak with your boyfriend abt it, but people on meth are not in touh with reality.

He needs help NOW.

Well he could overdose from the meth, but the ibuprofen wouldn't have anything to do with it. Ibuprofen can cause stomach problems though, and taking far too much of it can cause liver damage, but it's generally considered the safest painkiller. That being said, your boyfriend is doing damage to his liver already by putting caustic toxins in his body. Everything you put in your body gets processed through the liver, and if he drinks or does other drugs as well as the meth, he could die very young.

Meth overdoses can cause convulsions, soaring high body temperatures, brain damage, and death. Get your boy off that **** before it kills him.

Alot of meth alone can be dangerous and deadly. The addition of the ibuprofen is not going to help or harm

one time meth use with one motrin will probably do nothing to him except possibly get him addicted to meth. the biggest concern with OD from meth is hyperthermia (too high of body temperature) and hypertension (too high of blood pressure) and violent tendencies (probably more death related to that then the others)

He could overdose from meth... period. Sometimes it only takes one time to become addicted to that crap. I'm not completely anti-drug because I've done my share of stupid things... but there's certain things I always knew to stay away from... and if meth had been around then like it is now, that would have been one of them. Please stay away from that crap, please.
