If the aliens came back, I think they would be expecting us to treat them like gods like we did the last time they were here. They will be in for a shock.

Yes because if you compare neanderthal man to man today - and then compare man today to the typical profile of an alien - a large head (intelligence needed), small bodies, tiny nose, tiny mouth (don't need these so much), and small fingers for manouevering technology, alien is man evolved even further with the technology to transcend time so they will know everything.

They'd probably have a deeper understanding of the universe, but it's highly unlikely any technically advanced, atleast to that level, would still believe in ghosts, gods and the like.

No, i would expect them to be stopping off for a quick wee, bag of crisps and a tank full of petrol enroute to somewhere MUCH more exciting.

First of all, I'd expect a huge language barrier. We'd never have time to get past it because either we'd kill them, or they'd kill us. That's how life works.
