I'm a graduate in B.Sc.Finance and I'm working as a Financial Analyst in a reputed company. I usually fail to meet deadlines because I take some time to do a particular task in a better way. Whenever boss scolds me, I am frustrated and I used to cry for a long time till my anger leaves me. I get angry even for a simple matter. I think this is because of stress. I'm going to do CFA exam next June and all these are barriers for my studies and for my job. Is there any practice that I can follow so that I can live in a better way by handling all my tasks successfully. Thank you.

I understand where you are coming from because I have been there myself. So I went to anger managment. For 1 hour a day 2 days a week I was able to share my stress, anger, fustration with someone who has an unbias opinion. I noticed that as time went on my anger got less and less and my stress level went down. I would get so stressed I would make myself sick, and ulcers aren't fun. If you find the way you are doing your work is good for you then do it, but try to hit it head on and find short cuts if needed. I always say prioritize and conquer.

Yes. Just keep in mind that MOST people feel that way about their jobs.

You have a job that has a lot of stress in it. That's why you feel the way you do. Plus the stress of school.

It's normal. Human nature.

Until you can break free from this job you have now, try biting on pencils like I used to do. Lol!

We've ALL been there. Keep hope alive. Believe me, not ALL jobs are that stressful, especially when you're not juggling school too.

Things will get better. Just wait and see.

Good luck. I know how you feel.

You need to prroritize better or show the boss that you have made significant upgrades and that is the reason for the delays. But if he prefers you can give him the minimum effort instead of your maximum efforts. Then you will have to split up your deadlines so that you can meet them better, Set up a certain time to get it done and stay within that time. Its either that or work longer hours to make up for doing it the better way.

I think you need to find an outlet for your stress.

But maybe you should try a scheduler or PDA and start realistically working around your deadlines and organizing yourself each day into what you have to do.

I would try to balance my home life with my work life. Not take work home with me and find ways to relax at home to leave the office behind.

That can make a big difference.

I can say what has helped me! I used to daydream of killing the fat pig who hurt my grandson and then I started using hypnosis CDs and set the CD player to repeat. I have to play it low, so it doesn't wake me, but it is loud enough to barely hear. Another thing I do is listen to an audio book called The Processes - if you can ignore the fact that it is *channeled* (I know....) but I just ignore that fact!! and really, you will feel better within 20-30 minutes! I feel so much better now that I'm going to let someone else kill him for me!! :)
