Hello dear!
I suppose from history books and Internet you can find a lot of info, thus you are asking for personal sides and brief info about Pericles!
Well, He was the president elected dozens of times to preside the Athenian Democracy! He was the president while the long fortress, Acropolis as we know today, schools, infrastructure, ... was accomplished!
Personally, I consider Hm the most successful Leader of all times, all over the world! Can you imagine in a democratic systems to elect someone more than 30 consecutive times?
He organized his state in such way that his city, hit by invasion, etc., still, became the cradle of Western civilization!
A detail: since the had undergone war with many men killed, there were more women than men. So, he passed (democratically of course) a law that a man could marry two women! It might sound awkward, but this way all were satisfied! Life went on and within a generation all return to their prompt consequence!
After all, his statesmanship is Historically known and called the Golden Age of Pericles, this is how great he is!
