I need to draft for the future in my keeper league because all the current studs are taken and my team is not in the greatest shape. I have the first pick in the draft and will probably take Bush with it.

Who else do you think has a lot of upside that I can draft now to be in good shape for the future?

You have to take Bush #1 but after that it depends on what positions you need. Some guys to target:
RB Wali Lundy, WR Chad Jackson, QB Brodie Croyle, QB Jay Cutler, Rb Brian Calhoun, WR Greg Jennings, RB Jerious Norwood, TE Leonard Pope, WR Hank Baskett, and RB Maurice Jones-Drew. I hope this helps, good luck!

D'Brikashaw, but never mind that for fantasy football.

Vernon Davis
A.J. Hawk (if you use individual defensive players)
Jay Cutler (Plummer's getting pretty old)
Matt Leinart (Kurt "always get hurt" Warner will probably get hurt, just like the past 5 years)
Vince Young (needs to learn passing better, but Billy Volek won't last)
Brian Griese (We Bear fans are already sick of Grossman, and he'll get hurt)
LenDale White (goal-line back for the Titans, like Jerome Bettis)

Good Luck!

My philosophy is to win the league now. Worry about the future later. With that in mind I would take Larry Johnson. He has potential for this season and the future. Frank Gore, Ronnie Brown, and Stephen Jackson are players who have current and keeper value. It is ok to have a few players that will help you in the future, but you real aim should be to win the league.

Well Yes, I cannot argue with Reggie Bush. I personally am not very hopeful for his NFL career, but you cannot risk not taking him. I do not know whether your league makes you select your keeper at the start or end of the season but heres what I say assuming it was the start of the season.

so here we go:

Larry Johnson RB - at the start of last year he was 2nd to Holmes
Reggie Bush RB
Ronnie Brown RB - Last year was a sign of good things to come
Kevin Jones RB - Will eventually develop to a great NFL back

Michael Clayton WR - Don't let last year fool you, this guy is good
Mark Clayton WR - I look for him to step it up this year

Chris Cooley TE - Was a key peice of the Redskins playoff run last year, he score 3 TDs in one game(week 15)!

Hope this helps you out! Good Luck in the draft!

If you have the first pick, Larry Johnson is a safer pick, IMO. He will only reach his prime in 3 or so years, and he is a proven back. But to answer your question, here's a list of players with upside.

RB-Reggie Bush, Laurence Maroney, Frank Gore, Ronnie Brown, Stephen Jackson, Cedric Benson

TE-Vernon Davis

WR-Santonio Holmes, Chad Johnson

K-Mike Nugent

This depends alot on your team needs. If your weak in one area specifically (i.e. quarterback, wr, etc) then you should look there. except that you have the first pick, dont make the same mistake houston did...definitly take bush!! Besides other obvious choices like leinart, or young, I do have some sleepers for you for later rounds:
RB - Mike Bell Denver
QB - Jason Campbell Washington, chris simms tampa, charlie frye cleveland, phillip rivers sad diego
WR - Chad jackson New england, santonio homles pittsburgh, charles rogers detroit
TE - Ben Troupe tennessee, Jeb putzier denver

Hope it helps
