I have the latest drivers installed and after a short period of time the power of the mouse simply cuts down and the mouse doesn't responde. I have to restart the computer to make it work again

All USB devices are backwards compatible with USB 1.0 and 1.1. You need to check the other system requirements.

i'm pretty sure it will but if it doesn't just buy a usb 2 connectors that fit in ur pc slots it shouldn't cost u more then 20$

Shouldn't be a problem. Usually peripherals are backward compatible.
