there are green patches on different areas of the screen

You have a monitor malfunction.
Probably due to opening and closing the lid.
If it is new I would send it back to the co. you bought it from.
It is prob. a dell they have a lot of monitor problems.

you weren't pushing on the screen with your fingers or something were you? If you were, you ruined those parts of the screen.

Your display panel might be damaged from overuse.

i think your laptop LCD is damaged, watered or something !
