has anyone ever noticed that none of the out of control teens on shows like Maury seem to realize that if one of those drill sargents touches them, they can have them arrested for assault? also, do u think the harsh treatment/milltary discipline recorded by the cameras for the show continues once the cameras are turned off, or is it just done for show?

Of course it does, that's why it is a boot camp. It's to instill some respect through fear. It's a proven method of compliance. And these days, you are correct. There is no physical abuse used. But believe me, there are other ways to get them to comply, I assure you. I went through Marine bootcamp 21 yrs ago and they weren't allowed to touch you there either. But they did a wonderful job in getting everyone to comply through other means such as forced exercise. They wear you out! I am sure that the drill instructors at these bootcamps use the same methods. PLus it gets them into shape and gets whatever poisons in their bodies out of them.
