There are states, such as Wyoming, that are less populated, compared to other states, because of the terrain mostly. The Rocky Mountains make up much of the state.

It is actually a beautiful state, with outstanding trout fishing and excellent winter sports. It has source waters for the Missouri River, one of the most important rivers in the country. Yellowstone National Park is quite popular and in the northwest corner of Wyoming. Backpacking is another activity. Wyoming is considered a western state, northeast of California. Montana is Wyoming's northern border. Like Colorado, which is south, it is a rectangle in shape.
