Medical amnesia is rare and is temporary. But, would losing some of your memories be bad? When I asked my aging father, who was just beginning to experience memory lapses, if his loss of memories was a bad thing for him, he said, "No. What's gone is gone. I still feel like the same old "me". " I have been thinking since then about what "me" really means . . .about how much of our memories can we lose and still be "me".

Humm, I guess if you remembered you had it, it might get you down. But then again, every day is a new day for an amnesia patient!
