ground wires are engineered in for safety, both yours and the equipment. High voltage that could be dangerous to you is sent to the ground so you are not harmed. Electrical grounding also
assists in the prevention of static charge buildup and other electrical problems that could cause damage to equipment.

a monitor filter is good only if is grounded ..so that will discharge the electrostatic and electromagnetic radiation to ground. NON grounded monitor filter = glass filter ...
