We have been short on smart politicians for some time!! Maybe it's time for a non specific party (rep. or dem.), to run the big show- like one of Norman Rockwell's baseball type boys... GOOD OL' CLEAN AMERICAN BOY!! Not corrupt, crazy, stoopid,or a puppet, someone that actually thinks firstly for the people, then for governmental purpose.

There have always been well intentioned politicians and those who like to posture instead of get things done. Lately though, with the advent of instant media like tv and the internet--a lot of politicians seem to be more interested in image than the issues. They hire people to produce slick campaign commericals that besmirch their opponent's character, point fingers but never offer viable solutions. They win or lose elections with this kind of tack. They hire spin doctors to make them look good. There are so many reported scandals with politicians now more than ever.

Lately it seems that all they do in Washington is jump up and down and yell about what the other party is doing wrong, and nothing gets done. The system is broken in Washington. I hope it changes soon for all our sakes.

Remember Warren Harding?? I think that media has changed the way that politicians are portrayed, and because their much more scrutiny now, it appears as though there has been a dumbing-down of politicians. I'm curious to read other views on this subject, but I honestly don't think so.

We are not short of smart politicians, we are overwhelmed with over zealous, greedy, self serving, old time, and power hungry Lawyers.

Law makers should have term limits like the president and new blood should flow in the veins of Congress.

I think politicians are smarter today than they have ever been. What we are short on today are good intentioned politicians. Most politicians today don't know the meaning of "public SERVICE"; they're mostly in it for personal gain.

We got enough but they can't really do anything since they're not in power. Wait till the Democrats take over the Congress and the White House. Then everything will be alright.
