Grandmother leaves her dog Lawrence everything.
It just happened to my very best friend and she is devastated .because she was very close to her grandmother......anyway the dog named Lawrence is a six year old Pekineese and probably has at least 10 years left of life .after the dog pass (dies) the rest has to go to several animal charities . what do you think?
PS....it is legal to leave your fortune to your pet .I check it out ...check for yourself>>> http://petcaretips.net/pet-trust.html

i think it's a great idea. you only see certain relatives when someone dies, and that's only to find out how much they'll get. obviously this lady preferred her dog to her relatives, good on her.

It looks like it is legal in those few states mentioned. Maybe your friend can get custody of the dog. She will need a place for the dog to live and can use the dog's money to buy a nice house with a big back yard for him to play in, hire a yard man so the dog can play in it better and get a big swimming pool so the dog can go swimming. This is how she can get to use some of the money for her advantage. Maybe she did not love grandma as much as you think she did. Did she visit often and do things for her, take her places and sit and listen to her stories, take care of grandma when she was ill? Maybe grandma would have left the money to someone else if not to the dog and she may not have gotting anything anyway. I'm sure the woman had children living that would have come first and there may have been other grandkids she liked better and that did more for her. Anyway you don't miss what you never had so she is not any worse off than she was.

Whoa. 7.5 million is a lot to put towards a dog, but sadly I've seen/heard it happen before. Its amazing how well off dogs can be. So its very noble of her to leave her money to charities, but I think they (the charities) could definitely benefit more from the money now, then Lawrence can. Who has care of the dog? And did she leave your friend ANYTHING?
I think its a little crazy, and devastating, I'm sure, for your friend, but she's gone so long without the money, she shouldn't miss what she didn't have.

I have friends and family who believed they were close to me too, when I had my will wrote out and they realised they were not to benefit from it they all suddenly became very noticeable by the absence, I am going to give my money to a dog charity too, my dog has never let me down, is loyal, loving, always glad to see me and listens when I need to talk, funnily enough none of my friends or family could or would do any of those things yet they thought I should leave everything to them too.

Of course it is a little weird to leave it to Lawrence... mainly because if he is the sole beneficiary who on earth could write his will as he might wish it to be? (he might not want it to go to charities!)
I'm not sure if it was unfair... unless you were promised something?
Old people do very odd things occasionally.... my mantra in life is to expect nothing of people- anything good that does arise is a pleasant bonus... and unexpected.

its a personal choice, the grandmother left her fortune to the most deserving cause she must of thought very little of her relatives, perhaps they didn't pay any attention to her when they could and just left her on her own with only the skanky little dog for company, and now they are squaking because she left the mutt the lolly ha,ha,ha

Grandmother could have reliable convictions that family members who do no longer desire custodial care (like dogs do), could make it on their very own in this international. Your buddy could have been close to to her grandmother yet granny could have felt closer to the dogs. They spent on a daily basis at the same time, have been continuously there for another. ultimately, granny could have felt enable down by utilising family members many times (no longer your buddy in specific) and function felt that the animals needed her funds greater.

Likely legal, but talk to a lawyer. The old lady may have been out of it, of just plain vindictive.

i think its ridiculous. what the fu ck is a dog gonna do with money. i mean she didnt have to leave the money to her granddaughter but she could have given it to charities to help fight homelessness, starvation or research for diseases. that was just stupid.

(ps peta people dont attack me, i love animals, but 7.5 million is freakin insane it give to a dog)

Grandma was sending a message to her granddaughter to get out there and make her own way.
