The best rapper of all time is 2pac...He's been gone since 1996.
Second best is The Notorious B.I.G....died in '97.
A great rapper you haven't missed out on yet is Nas. He's a brilliant lyricist and vivid storyteller...You should give me a try...
Some others worth mentioning are:
Jay-Z, Rakim, Big L, Big Pun, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Kanye West, and The Roots (they're a group but still great)...
