I got my navel pierced over 2 months ago at a very sterilized studio. Last week i went body boarding and cleaning it out afterwards, but now i developed a keloid on the bottom hole (the bottom of my navel) it keeps bleeding and hurts. I know not to take it out, and i have started to do sea salt soaks and such again.
do you think the keloid will go away? please help, any info would be appriciated
thank you.
and professional piercers help me =)

i know what a keloid is and i had one on top of my cartiledge on my ear. it went away when my hair stylist accidentally caught the jewelry int he comb and yanked on me which made me bleed alot, but it made the keloid go away.

are you sure it's a keloid or is the skin actually protruding out from your piercing? the same thing happened to me when i got my navel pierced the first time. i took out the piercing and let the hole heal. i know have a keloid from the first piercing (scar tissue).
it sounds like it's the inner skin coming out... if so, this will heal and go away on it's own. continue to do your sea salt soaks everyday... a great soap to use is "satin". most piercing places carry it. try not to go body boarding while it is still healing. the healing process can take a long time, up to a year if you're lucky!!

although Im 100% sure that another poster was right in saying a keloid wont go away - instead of asking us stangers on the net why don't you give the person that pierced you a call?

since keloids are scar tissue, it will not go away without plastic surgery and possibly steroid injections to stop it from keloiding again. people are prone to keloids down the center of their body. also, black ppl are more prone to it than others

i dont know but when i had my eyebrow pierced i used sea salt soaks to care for it and it kept pussing and bleeding right up until the day that it almost entirly rejected itself, and then i broke the rules and pulled it out and let it heal over cause i didnt want it to leave a bigger scar than it already did. and it healed just fine... for the second time. i pulled it out the first time i had it pierced too. those times they healed fine so i dont know what the big deal is about pulling them out.

boarding was a bad idea. I would go see a doctor so he can look at it if its bleeding and hurts.

go to your piercer. you irritated it when boarding. please go to a piercer, and you were 100% correct in not removing the jewelery.
