The best vacuum cleaner for cheap...?

I am moving into my first house and need to buy a vacuum. We are on a buget and would prefer to spend $150 or less. Please explain what you like about your choice! Thank you!

Consumer Reports likes all the Dirt Devil models, except that they're very noisy. But for the price, it might be worth it.

I bought a GE canister vacuum at Walmart for a very good price, but I hate using it because the hose is attached to the body in an inflexible way so I have to manually untwist the hose often every time I vacuum. If you can, see the vacuums in person and see how they maneuver.

We must have had every vacuum made, including the most famous high-end brands like Dyson, for our home and for rental properties.

The only one I would buy today is a Miele. I'm tired of throwing out vacuums. I threw out 2 Dysons last month.

Miele stuff seems to last forever. Perhaps you can get a second-hand one on eBay.

I have an oreck that cost's way too much, it is way over rated, go to walmart, they have a good selection under $100 that would be your best bet, I use to have a singer vacumn it was a good machine, I got it at Walmart.and it only cost $68.00

I got a Bissell in Walmart for less then $50.00. It has all the attachments you could need and picks up the dirt good.

i recommend the bissel cleanview cheap and no bags great deal and great vacuum own one myself!! also recommend yson but thats $400. also central avcuum but expensive $1,000.

i like the kenmore progressive from sears
it cleans well its light weight you can try them out in the store too
i also had a dirt devil for 8 yrs and it still works

Bissel. I bought mine from walmart for 59.00....it's bagless.....but ther eis also 1 for 39.00 that has bags. I have had mine for 4 years.
