ya that's kinda of a unwritten rule you gotta ask the friend if it's cool before you go on that line...and the brother ya he's off limits I would kick my friends *** for going out with my brother before going out with my ex...

To sum up my response - yes to the ex, maybe to the brother.

The ex is supposed to be either seen as the enemy or the perfect catch that slipped through her fingers. Either way, it is off limits.

The brother - that one is hard. It depends on the relationship between brother and sister and the ages involved. Be aware though that it is probably a situation you should not enter into lightly. When/if things go bad between you and the brother then you may have to face an abgry friend if she perceives the breakup was your fault, or you may not feel welcome when visiting your friends home. You would want to be sure that it was worth these risks.

It's VERY VERY VERY VERY bad to date a friend's ex. Doesn't have to be best friend of just a reg. friend... its something u just don't do. I mean if they are you're best friend... why would u want their seconds? Also dating their bro is only okay if they don't get along. I say this because mixing friendship w/ fam isn't good. What if u guys break up and your bff has to make the pain-ridden decision of what side to take. I mean, this is a possible situation that only happens in bad break ups but sometimes its better safe than sorry.

Not a good idea. Specially if she still has feelings for him. You should have been more sensitive. As for a pal's brother? Are we talking true love here or just for the moment? It could get ugly when it does not work out and your friendship will suffer.

It's best to check guys outside that have no blood or emotional ties to your loved ones.

Is he worth losing your best friend?
As for her brother, don't do that either. If things get nasty (and not the good kind of nasty) then she'll have to choose sides between you and her family. I ended up loosing my best friend for a year after I broke up with her brother.

Do your own thing. She's just a jealous *****. If she's truly your friend she'll be happy for you. Guys listen to this line of crap about sisters too. Geez who rights these retarded rules? Life isn't an episode of Dawson's Creek.

Tell your friend you're interested in him, but her opinion matters. If she doesn't want you with him, move on. If she doesn't mind, go for it, but make sure you don't accidentally rub anything in her face or anything if you two hook up. Definitely definitely talk to her though. There will always be tons of guys, but friends should always come first.

If you want to keep your best friend then I will not date her ex. Her brother you could date but not anyone she had sex with.
