I am trying to leave my husband, but don't have the money for a divorce. I am also, trying to get on a list for low income housing, unfortunately, I have to be either divorced or legally seperated with documentation. Otherwise they will include his income in adjusting my rent. He easily makes 5 times the amount I do as a full-time college student. So, I am wondering if anyone has any information about the legal seperations.

Go to your county courthouse, seek out the clerk of courts and tell them that you want to file a no-fault divorce pro se (without an attorney). They will direct you where to get the paperwork. It's easy to fill out, just fill in the blanks. Then go back to the clerk of courts to file it, but tell them that you'd like to see if they can waive the fee. You'll get to talk to a judge, who under your circumstances, will probably waive it. You'll get a court date and go from there. Prior to your court date, contact the low income housing center in your area, set up your appt, and bring a copy of the divorce/separation papers. They can work off of those until they have the final judgement of divorce.

For legal separation, ought to serve papers. Can separate yet not legal separation. without papers no alimony or help given and no branch of sources. If there is proiperty, you want legal separation and divide up sources, etc. If lengthy marriage then might want to get some alimony that could want to help you get a interest or in spite of to live to inform the tale. it would want to also reduce legal duty for a larger 1/2 from getitng loans, etc. and it being on sources you may want to co-personal. it truly is more beneficial secure for you financially.
