Imagine that we humans traveling in space someday in the future came across a planet inhabited by intellegent beings (but still early in technological advances). There is no need to go there but out of curiosity we study them and their planet. But what would YOU do...would you...

I would share very basic knowledge with them, stuff like the basic periodic table and standard text book info, just so i could get a better understanding of where they are in terms of advanced technology. If they aren't as advanced than us then i would consider trade with these new life forms, advanced technology for mineral rights and any other unique resources they might be willing to trade, and then form a mutual protection agreement so that if one of us is attacked by another race of beings we would band together for safety and fight of these intruders off. In time i would hope that they would eventually come to trust us and form a strong alliance for the future.

How do we know that they are friendly?? i wouldn't give or share any of our techonolgy with them,until we knew for sure they were friendly and cause no harm to us.

Share technology with them now. If we wait until they are advanced as we are, there is a chance they will turn on us and wipe us out. By sharing our technology, they will feel indebted to us and thus repay us in kind when we need it.

On track record, we would rob them of all their natural resources (especially oil) and enslave them. We might even put one of them in the Bronx zoo, as we did Ota Benga an African tribesman in 1906.

Not very probable but still.........I'd probably capture all their resources(land for example) if they have any....kill them all so that they vanish without a trace.....then we could start the process of sending people from overly populated countries on earth to their planet.....we could look for energy resources, water,etc on their planet too...and just before i kill them all, id check to see if any of them are good looking.
