Don't ask people on yahoo how to talk because a great deal of these plebians haven't mastered the English language as their first language.

Just keep on practicing. If you dont understand what someone said, ask the to repeat it. Sometimes we speak to fast, and a person that doesn't know English has a rough time. My husband was from Greece, he took English as a second language. It helped him alot

Watch kids shows, like Sesame Street. Several actors/actresses and other famous people have sited this simple show with helping them to better understand English.
Practice, practice. Most (not all) people in retail, or other jobs that deal with the public will try to help you, if you are really trying to learn.

Practice, practice, practice! Then add confidence to it. :)
You can also attend seminars or classes catered to this kind of interest.
Try talking to someone in english even if they might think you're just trying to show-off. never mind the bad comments.
watch american movies and shows. read aloud. be mindful of your pronunciation.
record your voice.
when you're done with it, also purchase an american accent cd. there are lots of them in ebay.
and again, practice, practice, practice!
