In the middle, then away from any metropolitan areas to get even cheaper. I don't recommend this as the only criteria for an investment though.

Other then Alaska?? Can you send me some info on where to get cheap land in Alaska? Because I had a premonition, that's where the safest place is going to be when the asteroid strikes. If you want to be flooded out with the masses there's always North Carolina and Arizona. That's where all my fellow New Yorkers keep saying they're moving for cheaper properties. I noticed once that the Oklahoma area is pretty cheap too.

Look on the Internet. There's a ton of land and lots for sale across the nation. E-Bay, believe it or not, has been selling quite a few lots near where I live in Arkansas. Prices are cheap, but beware...You get what you pay for!

What about Washington? Try checking out http://www.dirt-cheap-dirt.com

His name is Ric Gerig and he specializes in selling affordable land. He's a really nice guy, so I bet if Washington doesn't appeal to you, he can help you find other realtors who specialize in cheap land elsewhere. Hopefully that works for you. Good luck!

I suspect you do not want cheap land, rather land at a good value. Land that is cheap tends to be swampy, has zoning issues, is unbuildable, not accessible by roads, and the like. MLS.com has many listings.

Most places in the midwest and Texas sometimes. Check eBay. They have tons of plots for sale and they're cheap.
