Well Ann Coulter insulted the families of the people who died on 9/11. Why did she do this? Because a few of the wives of men who died in the Twin Tower attacks have been critical of the job George Bush has done, which many other people have called a very poor job as president. Since Ann is an extreme support of Bush, she bashed these women, and used a low blow (meaning she was very unfair and disrespectful.) She lied and said that the widows of these dead victims only cared about getting popular and getting money.
that is a very mean and ugly thing to say about someone.
And BTW, liberal is not a dirty word, but disrespectful liar is a pretty dirty thing to be.
A liberal is someone who believes the government shold have programs, like health care and Social Security and unemplyment insurance. How is that dirty?
Some bad people in the republican party wanted to say bad things about democrats, but to keep doing that could one day backfire and make the democrats get stronger support..so they started to call democrats they didn't like liberals, and have tried to paint them as unpatriotic. Do not fall for this big lie.
John Kennedy, Harry Truman, Franklin Rossevelt and Teddy Roosevelt were all democrats that today would be called "lberals" because of the various policies that would be supporting would be like the "liberal" ones they supported when they were president. Oh well.

That's EXACTLY what she said. She even took it further, and said that she'd never seen anyone enjoy their husbands' death as thoroughly as the 9/11 widows have.
Anne Coulter is a certifiable fruit loop.
ps to CLEVER: Anne Coulter is just about the only "yank" to object to the behavior of the families of the 9/11 casualties. Most of us know that the money can never compensate for their loss, but are very glad to know their children and families will be taken care of. Please don't let crazies like Coulter or other rabid conservatives speak for the rest of us. We're rational, tolerant and peace-loving people, despite what Fox "News" might lead the rest of the world to believe.

regardless of the nonsense most people are spouting on here you need to put the comments in context- which goes something like this (though I recommend you do your own digging and reach your own conclusion):
Ann called the women "harpies" because she felt they were exploiting the fact that their husbands died in 9/11 for the political purpose of selling to the public what they otherwise would not have agreed with...."The entire country is now riveted on the left's device of using victims to advance their half-baked, unsaleable ideas."
She was also talking about people like Cindy Sheehan.

This time article sums up her position nicely, and unlike some of the stuff others have referenced to you TIME is not known for political bias (and if there is any it wouldn't be a conservative lean beneficial to Ann). Hope this helps.

There has been alot of griping in the USA about how, where and when these widows spend the money. I would also spend that money because it's insurance but if I thought that by giving the money back I would get my husband/wife back - believe me I would. I can't understand you Yanks, you give the money and then *********. when the ladies spend it. Must it lie in a bank forever????? As for them generating publicity - so what. Isn't that what the USA is made of - instant fame and fortune?????

She called them harpies and said they were happy their husbands died; if their husbands had lived they would've divorced the wives anyway. She also said they should not be allowed to voice their opinion on 9/11because they're profiting off their dead husbands.
Did you know that book is full of plagiarism and facutal inaccuracies? Read the transcript of the August 9 episode of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann":

Tara provided a great response.
Here's the video of when she said the comment on the Today Show. The video quality's not great, but the "proof is in the pudding".

Ms. Coulter has said this publicly during more than one TV interview. Ms. Coulter loves to snipe at people this way. She seems to delight in hurting people. She is much too full of herself.
