If the floppy's data light is steady then the cable is turned around backwards. If its not that simple then try changing the cable out, its not that rare for a cable to fail. If that doesnt help check your BIOS (on start up hit F1 or F2 or most commonly Delete). If none of that helps and your sure the drive works on other computers, then its most likely the motherbored. I hope something helps. have a good one.

Check out in the device manager the floppy drive controller is
available if not.Chk the cable & pins in the motherboard such that all the pins are intact. If still the problem exists take to the vendor.

Kindly go to BIOS and go to options and enable Floppy Disk 3 1/4 Inch, and restart your computer u can see floppy drive icon in My computer.

First check by double click in My computer icon check u can see floppy disk icon or not, if the floppy disk icon is not available it is disabled in bios. Generally computer assemblers disable floppy disk while setup operating system, the reason disable floppy disk their installatin will become faster and time saving, probably they forgotten to enable it in BIOS.

if the floppy cables are placed properly then check the BIOS settings.
The floppy should be enabled in the BIOS settings.

When the floppy is having constant green light which means the cables are not set properly

in ur case it may be either m-board or ide cables. in case if it is under warrenty kindly replace ur m-board as u have stated that u have checked the drive and the cables on other computers. the AMD co. will replace the board if it is under warrenty. it is not OS problem

OR

JUST GO TO CMOS SET UP AND ACTIVATE (DRIVE A) FROM STANDARD CMOS SET UP.
