and I mean ROCK drummers. not jazz drummers er any of that crap. Im 15 and been playing the drums 4 about 5 years now.

Drummer for 20+ years!!! Damn I'm old. DW and Zildjian rock! Love playing Death Metal and Reggae with the double-bass pedals!!!

"not jazz drummers er any of that crap"..... what's wrong with jazz drummers? Probably 8 of the top 10 dummers of all time have been Jazz drummers. buddy.
Like the person above me said, if you want to be a complete drummer, you'll learn more than one genre.
Also, you'll get bored of Alt-Rock and Pop-Punk after a while, trust me, they're limited genres.
And Neil Peart was a great drummer, and you should learn your Buddy Rich, but the next time you play your "not jazz or any of that crap", and you decide to use the high-hat, remember it was invented by the great JAZZ DUMMER Gene Krupa, or however you spell his name, ahh, he's dead, he won't get offended.

Every music rock band has drummers; the numbers in rock music alone are stratospheric. The best one to study from is Neil Peart: bar none. And if you're really serious, you'll scope out some classic tracks by Buddy Rich--the drummer who inspired Peart to be the drummer he is.
Don't be afraid to experiment and create your own drum sound, either.....maybe YOU will dethrone Neil Peart one day.

Name any "Rock" drummer you can think of and if he or she is any good at all I guarantee they'll be aware of the the great Drummers who play not just rock, but Jazz, Latin, Funk, and Classical and ALL THAT CRAP!
You've been playing for 5 years? Good! If you want to play for 35 years, learn ALL THAT CRAP!

I PLAY DRUMS. I HAVE BEEN PlAYING 4 about 6 years.I never had a lesson. THEY say i am not half bad.
