Has anyone ever tried borax? I have heard that it works good and my husband is doing it now..because he doesn't get bitten...must be nice huh? I also get attacked be mosqutoes, and get big welts on my body where bitten.....i try bugsprays and benadryl, but nothin seems to work. I hate the summers and never want to go outside because of it...and now I can't even go into my own home, because there isn't much space on my body left for them to bite me.

I eat garlic all the time, I don't think that I could live without the stuff, and not just garlic powder(I know that it isn't the same as actual garlic) but i eat minced garlic with anything that I can put it in. I did hear that they like pregnent people and when I was pregnent, I got them this bad as well..it is just VERY frustrating. Why were such anoying insects ever made? ahhhh!

I do have animals...I have 3 cats and a ferrett...but when they got infested, I tried treating them, but nothing works...especially on my ferrett(there are only a few safe methods to use on that type of animal)...so I put them all in the basement , treated them, and hoped for the best and for the fleas to go away. We are trying the Borax treatment and will see how that treats them. I want to kill them little buggers!

Your body chemistry is probably different. It's quite common for certain people to be more prone to insect bites because of differences in body chemistry which can attract or repel biting insects.

Many people eat Brewer's Yeast, garlic or vitamin B1 to repel mosquitos... perhaps it'll work for fleas too.

I have the same problem! I have a family of six, with my father in law staying here as well. We've given away the kittens we had and the fleas decided they'd stay. I am not the only one that's been bitten, but by way way far the most. Same thing, my ankles, legs arms. I am so frustrated! My sister mentioned eating raw garlic is supposed to help, we'll see. I heard on the radio that insects bite women more because of perfumes and because of the estrogen. Well, if that's true, then I must be very hormonal, lol!!! I wish you luck and God Bless!

Sounds like a body chemistry thing, for sure. You don't have pets? Because fleas always go for the creatures with the highest body temperatures first. For example they'll infest dogs before cats, and humans lastly (the least desirable choice.) I once took a trip and boarded my dog and when we got home the fleas were all over us, ravenous, having had nobody to gnaw on in our absence. You must have the highest body temperature in your home, in addition to a desirable body chemistry.

I know that mosquitoes don't bite people with diabetes ,so it's probably a good thing to be bitten.

First thought is that you are sweet.............. to them, that is.
But might have something to do with body chemistry. Something about you is attracting them.
Think you need to figure out where they are and get spraying.
