if you mean physical stuff, try the library or a children's charity
if you mean course material and other intellectual property, why not share it with others on the net.

You can always go to some local schools and ask the principal if you can drop off some materials for teachers to use. A lot of times teachers at our school leave things in the teacher's lounge that they don't need anymore and its pretty much free for all.

Where I'm at in California we can just place or paper in our recycle bins in our regular pick up. It would think it is pretty standard most everywhere. I would type in your regional city and recycle plants and see what you get on a search engine. P.S. God bless you for being a teacher!!!!!! I don't know how you beautiful folks do it this day and age! My most sincere thank you.

I held a teacher's only tag sale in my garage. I advertised with the curriculum director at my former district to have her let new or fairly new teachers know about my low prices. I marked everything correspondingly low (10 cents to a dollar) and sold out in 1 day. Because I held it at the beginning of school, a lot of new hires showed up.

I would call your local school district or system. Often, especially at this time of year, they will be holding induction and orientation sessions for new teachers. You could bring it there and let new teachers take what they might be able to use, or they could contact you and come to you.

You may want to donate any books to the library, other materials to schools that could use them. Ask other teachers if they'd be interested too. I donated my textbooks to the library and I know students could use them.

If other teachers can't use it, then how about your local freecycle group? There's usually someone out there who can really use the things we no longer need. Maybe someone can use it then freecycle it on to the next person....
