There is always someone who will react negatively to our declarations or interrogations, however kind and respectful we try to be. Maybe it's just a ying yang thing, but I'm more inclined to think that this is what adds spice to the human adventure !
Negative reactions can be an opportunity to reevaluate facts and opinions (which we should try to keep informed), but they must never stop you (except if you live under a repressive political regime) from expressing and discussing your ideas openly.
If you hurt someone, you can ask yourself how you could have conveyed the same message in a more constructive way (after all, you want your interlocutor to be receptive, you don't want him or her to close up like a clam). If you feel hurt, what is it that made you uneasy or angry? Does this reveal something about your own perceptions or preconceptions of the world?
Sometimes, there is just no way of avoiding conflict. Evil (in a very generalized way) must sometimes be confronted head on. :(
Keep the dialectic alive - this is what will help us all advance toward a better future :)

I have to admit I'm one of these people, in a way. But I'm not rude...I'm sarcastic. And I only answer sarcastically if the question calls for it. If the question is serious, I will answer to the best of my knowledge. I did have a lady (if you can even call her that) respond to a legitimate question I had...with an extremely rude remark that questioned my parenting skills. I was extremely PI**ED off to say the least. And what a coincidence...her profile showed she was a Christian! Funny though...she was removed from Yahoo Answers the next day;) Who knows what happened:D

Without negativity you cannot understand the positivity.
You require both to understand them better.
You cannot change everyone's attitude and it is not your job.
Try to adapt positive thinking always instead of telling so many things about negativeness.
In a public platform you will get all types of answers.
You have to practice endurance my dear.

It's the Law of Averages
There will always be 1 uglier one, 1 prettier one
1 smarter one, 1 dumber one
And that 1 negative one.

for some, yahoo answers is a way of letting oneself out and interact with people and to share whatever they know.
But for people as u said, it should be a hobby. Yahoo answers very well expect this and hence it has produced the abuse column. Moreover, in order to hide their ignorance, people sometime pretend to be arrogant. That's what happening here.

There's more than one in every bunch...especially around here. And as far as someone being a Christian and rude...well, they're just human, too. Doesn't excuse rudeness but it doesn't mean anything.

Maybe someone is having a bad day and thinks it's easier to write something nasty to someone they don't know then to take it out on family or friends.
