I have had several pets-all kinds of dog breeds, cats, birds..and fish but currently I have aquired a ferret and I got him from a pet store. Though they do tell you to get at least two I got one so I could devote all my attention to him. I absolutely don't like neglectful pet owners; if they have a tendency to "forget" then they shouldn't get a pet because pets deserve someone who won't be neglectful! I have fostered an abused pet before and helped find him a nice loving and caring home and I would do the same for abandoned animals. Yes i would like stiffer penalties for people who don't properly care for thier pets!

We got one dog from the animal shelter and one from a breeder
We have two dogs
I'd like to see the same thing happen to the pet owner that happened to the pet
We have in the past been a foster home to a couple of dogs
I think penalties for those who abuse or neglect their animals are not strong enough

we have 2 cats inside..a quaker parrot....4 anoles(tiny lizards)
and we have 2 dogs...2 kittens and a turtle outside. I feel that neglectful pet owners shouldn't have a pet EVER and should be punished with fines and do some time behind bars....neglecting pets is like neglecting kids! I have taken in so many abandoned animals and found so many pets GOOD homes! I can never say no to any of them! I love animals way too much!

i have 2 cats. lucy, who was an abandoned kitten my husband brought home one day and sally who i got from a cat rescue. i wish people who neglect their pets would just take them to a shelter where the animal would either get adopted out to a better family or put to sleep, which is better than the pet living in misery. i would possibly foster an abandoned animal, but not an abused animal simply because it is hard to predict the temperment of an abused animal. unfortunatly, some animals are unadoptable because of the irrevisble abuse they have recieved from evil people, in which case the animal should be put to sleep rather than live in lonely, cold shelter the rest of their lives. and yes, i would like to see stiffer penalties for people who abuse or neglect pets. i think people who have no regard for life, human or not, are likely to commit other crimes as well.

i got my pet from the back of where my husband works. some one dropped off a litter of kittens. I have 2 cats now.
I think neglectful owners should be treated the way they treat their animals.
I am fostering an abandoned pet. I have cared for sick and abused pets. If it is furry and needs a home. My door is open.

My husband and I have two dogs and four cats. One dog was from the shelter--rescued from a puppy mill where it was horribly mistreated. One of the cats was also from the shelter. One of the dogs was "rescued" by my brother who found it--half-starved, full of ticks and fleas, had a bad wound on its foot. Two of the cats were unwanted--people were trying to get rid of them. One of the cats was a stray--half-starved, had ear mites.
I think neglectful pet owners shouldn't have pets, then! I don't know if I'd be able to foster animals, as I think I would hate to see them go!
I'm not sure what penalties people now face, so I can't really say if I'd like to see them increased or not.

It is clever of U to ask five question here... for five points deduct... Worth it... Just kidding...
1) I had...1 Shih Tzu... A pair of Red-eared Terrapin... 8 Lionhead Goldfish...
2) Yes... I also had 6 Dwarf Hamster... But had just given to my three young cousin...
3) Owning a pets... It is a Lifetime commitment...
Pets owner who neglect their pet...
a) Call animal control and report the abuse
4) No... cause I do not had such a big place for such collection... I would sent it to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA)... But I adopted my dog-Shih Tzu from SPCA...
5) Yes... I like neglect /abused owners to be fine or jail.... For their behaviour

I have 2 dogs both from shelters 3 cats formshelters ... a bunny from a gurl down the street who neglected him and kept him in a little fish tank :( , then I got another bunny as a companion for him from a rescue, and Im fostering 2 bunnies

2 cats - from a shelter. There are already legal penalties for people who abuse or neglect their pets, as well there should be.
