When our stallions did that, we tapped 'it' with a light fishing rod..Like the little Zebco..all it takes is a light touch..Don't ever tap very hard, as it will traumatize him and it isn't necessary.
they do that at horse shows to keep the stallions' mind off of the mares. they actually learn to control it.

It's perfectly normal. I've seen it happen with horses too. And pigs, sheep, etc. If he's experiencing the urge to mate, a female scent will arouse him. And vice versa. I've seen female animals get aroused by a male when he walks into the barn. I once had a heifer pin one of the helpers against the stall and rub herself against him. He's just frustrated and lonely. Even parrots will do the same thing. Heck, how many times have you seen a male dog hump somebody's leg? So ignore the sickos. And not to be gross, but especially if a female who is having her period gets nearby, they get excited. Dogs even; how many times have you seen them get right in a woman's crotch and start sniffing, to the embarassment of their owner? It's because the women were having their period.

Splash a bucket of cold water on it. Or get his attention on something else. discourage it, if it offends you. He will get it . Donkeys are a little slow to learn, but are very smart. He's just showing off, And they do have braggin' rights!!
