Finding potential terrorists would be key, but screening only those that fit the profile only prevents a partial spectrum. A terrorist could be any individual that wants to pack some heat. That is our weakest link in our security is the ability to discern an actual threat from the benign.

Ideally if money and time wasn't the problem, we should be processing every single individual as if they were a terrorist and not allow any carry-ons. It wouldn't work but that would not only make it more difficult for an actual terrorist, but it would be less biased towards anyone for that matter. Its also a little hypocritical that we don't take the security as serious as we should. For example, most of us who have Internet access have an anti-virus scanner, and expect it to scan the whole computer and detect all viruses without fail. Yet we will function with a mediocre security setup that gambles on the probability that they've chosen the right individual. Its almost like Russian roulette and that's how we protect our lives?

NO, it's prejudice and wrong not to mention. It should be constitutional. Hell Muslims are just as innocent as you and I. It's the terrorists who need watching, not to mention the government. Not all Muslims are bad, as a matter of fact there isn't one nation of people wher are ALL bad. Everyone needs to be treated humanely and to the degree of the constitution that the lawa allows. This question suggests a mal intent on bringing Muslims under a microscope whene it is clear that as a people they have a much to offer this stupid country as anyone. So profiling anoyone in my opinion is wrong and invades privacy. Only when a person demonstrates a penchant for breaking the law should they evern be considered or if they harbor suspicous company.

Sorry, and no offense meant to many good peace-loving Muslim people, but profiling is absolutely necessary until order is permanently restored worldwide, and that will probably be a long time, maybe centuries.

Potential terrorists should be profiled. There are numerous terrorist organisations that are not Muslim. However Muslim extremists are the most active. So keep an eye on the crazy ones.Let the sane ones go about their business as usual.

I hate to say it, but lets face it, who do you want security frisking as you go through the gates? The little old white lady. The Norwegian business man? Or the 22 year old Arab man? I'd like to think if all these suicide bombers were fat, middle aged, balding, white men w/ green eyes, I'd understand having a bit more trouble getting on to air planes.

Hell yes. When the cops are told a white guy did it, they don't (or shouldn't) be rounding up black guys.

Let's face it ... although 99% of muslims are good people, 99% of terrorists are muslims, and until that latter ratio changes, you have to consider probabilities here.

Yes, if we know, for example, that Germans hated Americans and were plotting to blow us up, even if it wasn't ALL Germans, we would still check Germans more closely at airports etc...Political correctness has gone too far when it endangers our citizens.

Absolutely. They shouldn't mind if they don't have anything to hide. If they wanted to profile someone of Irish descent (or of a particular faith, like Catholic) I would have no objections to them questioning me.

Personally, I believe it's wrong. Muslim does not = terrorist. - BTW I find it humorous that you ask opinions on the issue then give thumbs down to those who disagree. If you wanted nothing but support for it then maybe you should find some racist/stereotype BS board to post on. But hey, have a great day anyhow.
